Imagine if our God was an ever changing God or was one that was never the same and changed like the wind. Where would we be?

A daily devotion I had was on how God is never changing and how He has been present since the beginning of time. God has never changed and we know from the Bible that He will be the same throughout eternity. While we are fleeting, the wonders of His creation remain the same. In Job chapters 37 and 38, God confirms His immutable nature.

Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone — while the morning stars sang together and all the angels[ shouted for joy? Job 38: 4–8 (NIV)

While we are on our spiritual journeys to grow in our faith, God remains that same. We are always developing as Christians, even when life may seem stagnant. God is always the foundation of our faith.

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 3:11 (NIV)

We may start out as children in Christ, but the strong foundation allows us to grow in Him. As we are constantly growing, we find new ways to view our unchanging God. This allows us to become spiritually mature and rooted in Christ.

The sustainable nature of God makes Him the perfect source to be rooted in and allows us to have a firm foundation for our faith.
